About Us

Doug Day and Mike Chambers have been friends since grade school.

"We grew up here, attended Cecil County Public schools, went to college together, worked in the building trades and eventually started building homes ourselves in the early 1990s," says Doug.

Prior to starting Autumn Builders in 1993, both worked for other home-building contractors in Maryland and Delaware on every facet of home building, and take special pride in offering the highest quality workmanship available on the market today.

"When we first started building homes, we both worked 18-hour days doing just about everything ourselves," notes Mike, "but over the years we've been able to cultivate relationships with the best subcontractors around-who are just as passionate as we are about quality workmanship. That's the key to our success, and why our customers come back to us.

When they're not building custom homes, Doug and Mike enjoy spending time with their families. Both have been married more than 20 years and are raising active teenage children who attend Cecil County schools. Mike enjoys hunting and golfing, and Doug enjoys watching his kids play sports, riding his Harley, hunting, NASCAR, and relaxing with his family on slow days.
